Well I just got off the phone with Vanco Power Brake Supply inquiring about there hydroboost systems they make.Great news they will make a set-up for the KJ's,the first one will be custom made but after that they will have the specs for kits. This may require a modified PS pump and some other mods to work(so not to overpressurize the OEM brakes).I can't remember the guy's name but was very knowledgeable and said it would be no problem even for a KJ,he admitted I was the 1st to inquire about there system for a KJ but didn't blow me off at all.I plan on doing this mod when I do my SFA swap(a few month's still down the road  ) and if need be get all the measurements for Vanco to do the hydroboost swap kits, gotta start saving more money I need brakes now!I'll let everyone know more about it as soon as I can dig up the $$$$$ to do it,oh by the way it may run anywhere from $500-$1000 for this mod but brakes are important and worth the money if you have a lifted KJ with oversized MT's on the stock brakes(like me,rear drums to boot).

Wally has the Vanco disc brake upgrade for the D30 on his SFA KJ as does Seth (IIRC). Wally says it alone is a night and day improvement over the stock TJ brakes. They do make some nice stuff.

I will be ordering from them for my XJ in the near future.

Have you tried some better rotors and pads yet? I have the drums in the rear which are great for the parking break since I have a steep driveway, but was horrible to stop during driving. Couldn't imagine trying to stop some 265 MT's. I upgraded to some frozen Powerslots. I had the Hawk HPS pads on them at first. Incredible difference in stopping power compared to stock. I had no idea that it could possibly stop that well. The problem was they produced a ton of dust. Within days of cleaning, the wheels were covered with dust, and they were squeaking terribly. I think their SUV pads may have been a better match. I ended up going down the street from my office and having Midas install the best stopping pads they had that didn't cause a lot of dust or squeak very much. A little dust is fine, and a squeak every once in a while is no problem. They put on some semi-metallics, and cleaned and adjusted the brakes for under $100 out the door. They don't stop as well as the Hawks, but there's almost no dust, and I've only heard them squeak once. They still stop much better than stock. I would think that if you're handy on the Jeep, that you could upgrade the stopping power up front quite a bit for under $200 right now. Then you could save up for the major upgrade.

I have powerslot rotors already, also had the hawk pads(they where junk threw them away, now I use Napa ceramics) but run Napa cermaics now,I also run Napa rear shoes, reblead, and reblead the brakes to no avail.Heck I even put those braided lines to prevent rubber line expansion. No it's time for a hydroboost system that can put out 2700psi compared to maybe 500-700psi the OEM system can produce. It will really help stop those 35" tires going on sometime next year with 12"+ disc's all around.

Thought you probably had from the looks of your Jeep, but was worth mentioning. 35's are huge. Can't wait to see a functional KJ on them. :D

No hydroboost for me, but for what its worth. I put on some ebc green stuff pads in the front with new stock rotors and i think it stops better/faster now than it did with the stock tires and pads. I have rear drum brakes also.
