Well I just wrestled three of the four skid plates onto my libby, it seems UPS or someone bent the tank skid a bit too much so now I have to get that fixed. It looks like I may be having a job interview on Saturday so I may not be able to go depending on how much my schedule changes within the next 18 hours or so.

Looks like I may not be going this time guys, sorry. I'll try to make the next one, just too many things came up on my schedule that I can't back out on.

...2. Got nailed with softball in the back tonight. I don't think it'll do me any good to be jarring around for hours in the jeep. Another time though.

not meant to be... Got there and no one showed up. Not a huge deal, everyone had good excuses, I just wish I would have known before I drove 7 hrs to get there....

What happened to the last attendee other than myself??

I waited until about 10, then gave the green trail a try on my own, but quickly decided that I didnt have enough experience to do it without a companion. :shock:

Jon,

I'm sorry you went through all that time and gas for nothing! I can imagine how frustrating that feels.

Green trail's really not that bad even for stockers -- especially when dry -- once you drive it a few times. I've driven that route twice now and feel like I know the way pretty well. If you've never EVER traveled the green trail, then I can see if being intimidating if you don't know what's ahead of you; there are a couple of steep climbs where you really can't see over your hood.

I plan on attending the next Badlands run, probably with my little girl. I'll check my calendar for July and get back to everyone. Hopefully gas prices will stay below $3. I couldn't go this time because of a prior committment, and we've been bleeding money for home expenses and birthdays. But I have a bonus coming soon.

P.S. -- We're probably better off waiting for some moisture anyway to soften up the trail. When Andy, Rob, and I were there in May, the steady wind kicked up huge clouds of dust out in the open. I guess I like my dirt a little less dusty.

The first couple hills I came to had pretty steep break-over angles with rocks on top and I didnt have anyone to spot... I didnt feel like getting stranded, so I turned back.

Yeah, it was really really dusty!

Jon, sorry to hear that man. i arrived probably about the time you were leaving. Would've been there sooner but forgot to account for the time change in my planning. Anyway, rolled in there about 10:45 Indiana time looking for any KJ's i could find but, as you all know, found none. Really wish i'd seen ya' too as i stayed all day & played really hard.

Hooked up w/ a group from Midwest Jeep club for awhile; mostly TJ's & YJ's and this old guy had a '54 Willy he was climbing INSANE stuff in. After 'bout an hour w/them i just spent the day exploring Badlands figuring out which parts i liked & didn't. Just a note for you guys, the orange section of the park is extremely tight. Challenging for sure but we spent so much time just trying to navigate through tight sections of forest that i didn't really enjoy that. Plenty of great trails/obstacles in other sections of the park though.

Sorry to have missed all you guys and hope to catch ya' on another run!
