This past weekend I found out why I need skid plates, no damage but now I understand. Anyone know best prices.

CHeapes prices are the Factory skids. YOu shuld at least get the factory front skid, transfer case skid and gas tank skid. YOu can go w/ a factory transmission skid if your wheeling keeps you from using it as a slider otherwise look into the All J super skid at www.boulderbars.com .

www.jparts.com usually has the best pricing on factory skids.

I'm looking at getting some mopar skids for the time being until the time that I may need to upgrade but I will doubt it.

The fuel tank skid from Jparts.com was like $99 something, the T-case skid was around $42 something, and the Tranny skid was around $42 something too, as well as the engine skid too. I already have that one so I didnt check. BTW...dont quote me on these prices, but they are close.

Tow hooks were around $83 something....another necessity :wink:

I'm planning on doing the same thing, adding Mopar tow hooks and skids.
Wyckoff Chrysler is a little cheaper than jparts.
Also, I live close enought that I can pick them up on my own so saves the shipping cost.

Um no, the Engine skid and tranny skid are two separate items.

Here are all of the factory skids:

Engine

Transmission

T-case

Gas tank

Engine skid is the Front skid.
Tranny is Transmission skid

Gas tank skid.

Sorry, I was just looking at the birth sheet the dealer gave me when I bought my jeep. The tranny and engine skid are listed as "Engine/Transmission Skid Plate". My bad.

Corwyyn, those photos make it look SOOO easy. Until you buy them and find yourself under your KJ trying to wrestle the tranny skid into place only to find out that the bolts need to be firmly tightened before you can even release so you can use both hands to finish the job :evil:

You are right! Maybe I got the last one! Sorry....

They have pretty good customer service. If you email them about it they should be able to tell you when they will get more in.
