For $440.00 you're getting front springs, rear springs, and rear shocks, correct? Rusty's is $465.00 and includes front OME struts.

I am also looking at the BDS lift, now. My local shop is pricing out the BDS lift with Ranch struts and also OME HD's with Rancho's front and rear. Initial estimates indicate that the price may be very close to the same for either. The local shop is a BDS dealer but can get OME parts. Since the BDS is 2 inches in the front and 1 1/2 out back, that should leave me sitting about level.

For my situation, I want no more than a 2 inch lift. That leaves out Rusty's and the Frankenlift. I only plan to go up one tire size to a 245/65/17 so I feel that the shorter lift will work out better for me.

From what I've seen and read on the forum, I think the BDS may just fit the bill for me.

Lets see OME, world wide company with years of experience in lifts etc. BDS.......may be OK, but when I looked at them they seemed rather cheaply made maybe they have changed OH .. well here I go again, I give up.

Don't give up Tom. :D

I'm just trying to make sure I explore all my options before I take the plunge. I sometimes seem to start focusing on a particular brand and not, at least, looking at other options.

The shop hasn't called me back with prices yet. Although, price isn't the main factor. My initial calculations show the difference should be within $50. However, with the OME, I'll get Rancho rear shocks. I've run Rancho's on several vehicles and was quite happy with them.

You do make a good point about OME's reputation and experience.

Is there an emoticon for stradling the fence and trying to decide which way to fall? :D  :D

Did you get any pics of your KJ up yet? I couldn't tell from the others how your level ended up. Right now, my KJ is higher in the back by quite a bit.

I look at it this way:

Many good people on this site have tried various lifts, different lift part combinations and every other combo out there. Some have had great results while others have wasted hundreds and hundreds of dollars. That is what makes this board what it is, and why you get the best advice and opinions here. More then likely, what you want to do to your KJ has been done one way or another, and I believe most lifts have had at least a few users. I can see giving something new a try, I kind of did that myself, but if you ask me the best thing to do is go with what is proven to work over time. I have yet to hear a negative thing about the OME Springs, from anyone. OK, some complain it only gives you 1.5" of lift, but that's just the way it is.

Go with what has been proven to work by other L.O.S.T. members and you won't be disappointed.

well said PBrug!
sandracer
I know what you mean as well, you have to explore the options out there. I spent so much time reading here and also on other sites about different lifts and also how the companies stand behind their product. I mean at first I thought RRO was a great place (well for a short time) I talked to others with various vehicles and brands and thats how I ended up with the OMEs
Secertly I keep hoping if I keep bringing up the OMEs they will give me a part time sales job or something on the side

OK. You have convinced me. OME it is. I talked to the local shop yesterday and he has no problem, at all, with me rounding up the parts for him to install. He said that actually, many of his customers do it that way.

Now, I can do like some others and snag the parts a few at a time and keep my happy marriage. :D

So, where do I fit in your OME pyramid scheme Tom? :D
