I'm seriously considering purchasing an extended service contract from DC now that I'm nearing the end of the standard warranty. I tend not to buy these things. In the case of the CRD I think I'll make an exception since I intend to keep the vehicle as long as possible. I'm considering the 7yr/100K contract but think perhaps I can do better than the price on the web site. There must be huge profit margins in these policies so perhaps there is a dealer out there willing to sell one at a deep discount for little to no sales time investment. Anyone ever successfully broker this type of long distance deal?

Thanks

I never buy those from the dealer. They are a rip off. WAY overpriced. I pay $5 a month to Geico for their breakdown coverage. It is a $250 deductible bumper to bumper coverage that goes to 90K miles. I used it on my Buick before we traded it in, and it worked slick. I payed my share and Geico gave my GM service dept. a Geico credit card number for the rest. All for $5 a month that won't be missed.

If you run a search someone posted the name of a dealer that discounts the Chrysler warrantys within the last three weeks.

Here are some useful threads:

The thread on JeepForum has the final resolution. I'll post this message to the LostKJ thread for completeness.
