This isn't actually my rig...
It's a Greek Fire Service KJ, operating on a wild fire site at Mt. Parnitha National Forest on the outskirts of Athens, Greece's capital and largest city.

The fire almost completely destroyed the most beautiful part of the park, which is one of the few (10) NPs in Greece and the only one near the wider metropolitan Athens area, where more than 5 million people live. It was a devastating catastrophe.

Various 4x4 clubs and friends of the mountain volunteered and joined forces with the fire fighters, in an effort to save as much of the mountain's beauty as they could. Some more pics from these efforts on this link.

X.

Sometimes, but mostly not :?

I usually try to get a translation whenever someone types in another language. But that is all Greek to me

I've been looking for 2 years and can't find one state-side. Can't even get a dealer to order one, but you could probably get it from a Mopar parts reseller.

Everything I tried has ended up taking me overseas with a $300+ purchase price and crazy shipping charges.

It's "Greeklish" actually ;), not GreeNglish :p

It is a form of written communication deriving it's roots back in the first years of the Internet: the unix-based character sets used back in these days, didn't include any greek alphabet characters; so, people that wanted to write in Greek had to improvise, substituting greek characters with the corresponding latin ones.

Anybody speaking Greek can write Greeklish, as long as he can match "Λ" to "L", "Δ" to "D", etc.
Some really-really special greek characters, are sometimes "optically" attributed to latin symbols or numerals, ie. "ω" becomes "w", or "Θ" becomes "8".

You can find more here if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greeklish

Doesnt seem to translate quite right, but you get the point.

So this fire, is it in a place that a fire would be natually occuring. There are places in the states that actually thrive after a fire takes place. Its just part of the naturaly cycle of things.

Great effort Jeger! (+ babelfish ;))
And it's perfectly comprehensible, except maybe for the last sentence :)

Regarding the fire, it is true that fire has always been a part of nature's cycle.
Unfortunately, this national park was the only remaining one near Athens, the nation's capital, where more than 50% of the whole country's population live. At the same time, Athens, is a "concrete-city", with the lowest "trees to people per sq. kilometer" ratio among all European capitals (by far...). And this European capitals' average ratio, is in turn, by far lower than the one of the United States largest cities...

In other words, you people in the States are blessed to have wonderful nature surrounding you, whereas, we here in Greece, are thoughtlessly strangling what's left of our country's natural beauties with concrete buildings...

All that literally means that we do not really afford to have our limited forests get burned... even if this is a natural process...

Χ.
