Well, buy the dremmel and a drill bit to drill out the rivets in the plastic bumper, then buy a cut off wheel and 4.5" angle grinder, then air tools and compressor with a few extensions and an 18mm socket to install the RL bumper, and a must would be am 18mm ratcheting wrench for that pesky last bolt that is right above the exhaust pipe.

That gives you 10 tools you could buy!

I'm afraid Dremel cutoff wheels are not the right tool for this job. The bumper cover is very thick and you will waste a lot of cutoff wheels to do the job. Just drill the rivets out and reach up into the corners where the bumper cover meets the flare and disconnect the clips (two each side) attaching the flares to the bumper cover.

It's best to do this:

1. Jack the KJ up on the rear.
2. Drill the rivets on the flares.
3. Remove the clips attaching flares to bumper covers.
4. Gently remove the clips holding the flares to the body (if you break it, that's $1.60 PER CLIP at the dealer)
5. Drill the rivets out of the bumper and pull out the bumper cover.
6. Enjoy ...

Have a can of Rustoleum handy to fix up any scratch you make during all of this.

A Dremel is not enough. Go buy a cheap grinder and grinding wheel. (wear goggles, long sleeves, and leather gloves - gets hot)

You should be able to find one for $20.

I doubt you can cut it by hand.

You can find a decent Angle Grinder pretty cheap. I'm sure if you keep tweaking the Jeep you'll find other uses for it down the road and it will make this job SO much easier.

Also, you can get reciprocating saw to cut the pinch weld. You might go through two blades (they ten to bend) but they'll do the job and they are cheaper than angle grinder.

Start to make the first two vertical cuts, then start another cut at an angle in the middle between the two vertical cuts and once you have enough cut away, you can make the slot straight later.

Oh yeah, it gets HOT :) and do wear shoes and vacuum the area well afterwards --- there will be lots of fine metal shavings.

I used a razor knife to cut the fenders. I just got the line I wanted by using some making tape, scored the fender a few time with the knife and then gently bent the fender along the scored line and it snaps right off really clean. You could get a cleaner more accurate cut any other way.

Riptricket I still have a new RL rear for sale and there's no waiting list. :D

I got a bit for my drill that could hold disks and put a 3" metal cutting wheel on it...it was less than $20 for the whole set up. Used it to cut off my ABS mount when I installed the JKS sway bar disconnects. It is much stronger than a rotary bit and I am still on my first cutting wheel. The cutting wheels cut fast too.
