anyone help me with what would be the tallest tire I can run on a stock 4x4 2004 ?

I'm willing to use spacers if it helps.

245/70X16 and spacers won't help. It will probably make it worse as the wheel moves out it hits the outside, pinchweld and other stuff fairly quickly.

I run 225/75 R16 (stock size) BFG AT's and when I stuffed them I can punch out the rear fender from the clips. They work out to 29.5" Diameter.

I've seen 245/75 on a stock 06, but dont take it off road.

245/70 would probably fit. But any upgrade without a lift is best guess.

wow, thanks, good info, but we'd gain 1/4" ground clearance by going up to 245/70-16 ?

no one mentions 235/75-16, so I'm guessing it's too tall at 29.8-29.9" ??

currently running 245/70 16's on a stock '03. They did not rub at all when i first got them. Since then I have a bit of rubbing in reverse due to susp. sag at the front. They will fit, but it's darned close! Here's a pic:
