Well my long search for a KJ is still on after i found out how much my insurance goes up ($1400 btw) compared to my beretta. I am really trying to stay in the 10-12k range, a local dealer just called me and they have an 02 sport that just came in with a little over 100,000 kilometers (not miles) on it. He said it is great condition, no scratches no dents or anything, the couple who is selling it, is buying a new kj. The only downfall (for me) is that it is white, i have never really had a thing for white vehicles, they show dirt so easy and the white on liberties is more of a cream color.

So the question now is to the white liberty owners, what do you think of yours? you regret getting a white kj, love it? hate it? I am going down to see it tomorow, still a little iffy if i want white or not though.

When I got mine, I had a choice between my 05 Patriot Blue Ltd and an 02 white Sport. I wish I could have the 02's tranny but, I was sick of white. The last three cars I owned before this were all white. I'll deal with the car tranny, I guess.

At the dealership - there where 2 CRD's - 1 black - 1 white - I wanted black - my wife wanted white....
I got used to it - although I still don't wash it enough

Salt in Austin is properly reserved for the Margarita glasses -

this spreading on roads would just make a mess.

I think White is great, although my current 02 KJ Sport is the Dark Blue. But my truck that I replaced with my Jeep was a '96 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2 automatic and 4 wheel drive. Yes the white will show off and bid poop and or any suicidal insect who runs in to your vehicle giving you multiple color dots and short stripes. But on an upnote when you wash and clean it up it will be a sweet clean looking Jeep. If decide that you don't like all white, you now have a clean pallet to start. A little Duplicolor, some masking tape real find sand paper you can in an afternoon or weekend make your KJ have that individualty look. Done right your custom stripe, or graffic that can turn heads and you'll never loose it in a parking lot. I think some automitive paint store, or paint supply house they will have graffic's pre-glued like masking tape {stencils} that comes off after the deep is done. This way yor KJ is very custom, or you could even (if you have the funds)
you can go to {www.autotrucktoys.com/liberty/} and get the 5o's Woody Kit. This way when your driving on the road it looks like a show peice ,buy at the same time show then this classy looking Jeep can also leave the road warrior behind . Then go play in the mud or on the hills with the only people who know are other Jeep enthusiast, you are not driving a trailer queen. Call it a show Jeep, because every time take it out you WILL be showing your litte beauty with an atitude

I absolutely hate silver, and I ended up with a silver Jeep. Over the year or so I've owned it. Its kinda grown on me a little. I still hate it, but modifications stand out more I think. Probably because everyone else drives a silver KJ.

all the cool kids drive WHITE kj's

seriously though the white actually hides the dirt and road grime (not talking off roading dirt and mud) real well, I mean mine looks clean 90% of the time and its actually filthy. And also my and the other white KJ's i have seen are pure white.....no hint of cream.

For 18 years I drove a white bronco (all o.j. jokes aside). I loved it. IMHO I think white hides day to day dirt better than anything. It does not fade as much as anything else, and it stays cooler in the summer. I would GO FOR IT!
(My kj is blue, as I was due for a change after 18 years)

I didnt like the white at first so much but now I do. It looks great muddy when you want it dirty and looks brand new when you want it clean. Everyone I talk to cant believe its an 02. They all think its new.... Plus black or chrome (which ever direction you go) accessories look great on white. It also doesnt get as hot inside as a black or dark color in the summer. I had a black 02 accord before this which was unbearable in the summer months here.

When I got my sport I was looking for mechanical options more than colour, so when the dealer found this one, I jumped on it. Now I like white KJ sports a lot.

you all have given me a lot to think about, i am really considering that jeep now..The big thing that got me was the graphics, my gf is an incredible free hand artist. Im thiking some type of bllue graphics on a white jeep would look awesome... As long as its not a cream color white.. if its a nice real white, i will go for it. I will update on my decision later today.

Also do you think 102,000 kilometeres is too high for an 02? i think its like 65k miles?

One other important point about white vehicles in general. The reason most fleet vehicles are white is because the primer used in the paint process is also white. Helps hide scratches better. my brother lives in texas and says that is why most of the trucks you see on state road crews and other work trucks are white. Other colors use the grey primer and that shows on a deep scratch.
