I use a 102" Stainless steel whip, bumper mounted, on a quick Disconct.
Its A Great antenna, no cutting for SWR, but needs to be on the Spring.
6" I think..the Big heavy duty spring..it will also Hold your flag for the Trails that require it, and when not in use, I have a Clip on the front of the XJ that lets me clip it down, so its not Wavin around on the streets. or I just take it off then.
But get the Steel one..not the Fiberglass one..It wont last after a good whack on a tree Limb...and You will hit them !!..but there the Best mobile antenna, there just big..a full 1/2 wave.
Im A Ham radio opp. also, and have other antennas mounted, but not an issue here, I just use Mag mounts for them, there alot shorter, and I don't use them on the trail anyway..
