the problem in canada is that the garage door clickers give a "burst" rather than a constant signal....
(Canadian Telecommunication Regulation)

So to train the OTIS/EVIC, hold the Garage door button on the otis down,
put the clicker next to it, then press button down on the clicker and hold for 2 seconds, release, then press and hold
for 2 seconds, again, again and again...

It will take about 10 presses of the garage door clicker, while holding the button down on the OTIS/EVIC the whole time...

hmm not too hard...do i have to have the evic set on anything int he menu to do this? Also when i have to click then let go about 10 times on the clicker so i constantly hold down the button on the evic or release it also? I better do this way from the garage so i dont open and close the garage 10 times lol.

Also will it say on the evic that it picked it up? or do i have to just press the botton and hope it opens the garage?

You hold the button on the evic/otis down the whole time.

On an evic it will say "training": on an otis it will not say anything.

It is a good idea to erase any prior data by holding the two outer "homelink" buttons
down for 20 seconds.

If you still have problems you may have a rolling code opener..... that is a whole other bag, but
the otis can do it.

I was goning to say "Just read your Owners Manual" or "If all else fails, Read and follow the directions" but i guess that would be to obvious or rude.

so I wont say either of those.

Thanks for the info! I just did this and got it "trained". Very cool! I didn't get a manual with my 2005, so this post was VERY helpful! :D
