Anybody try JK tires/wheels?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to fit JK 255/75r17 and wheels (using 1-1.5" wheel adapters) with a 2.5" lift?
There are a few sets around here pretty cheap.
What are your thoughts????

just have to get the adapters to change from 5.5 to 4.5 bolt pattern which they do make.

only problem is that those adapter add width. and the backspacing on those wheels is probably already 5" with an 8" rim, same as TJ Moabs. I think you'd end up with your track too wide. Despite what Pontiac used to say, wider is not necessarily better!

I disagree and so will most on this one guys...wider increased your jeeps footprint and lowers the COG a bunch!!! just a half inch even on each side helps out...I run a 1.25" wheel spacer and a 3.75" bs steelie on my TJ and so it essentially has a bs of 2.50"...sure the tires stick out more but at least for me it allowed better flex for my wider tires AND it has also added a better stability on the tippy rocks...some will also say that this increased bs will cause premature bearin wear, but this is debatable and negligable, just ask round...my $.02 cents

what i meant is:

wider is not necessarily better because on a kj it will cause all kinds of rubbing...

haha, yeah but when you cut stuff of the KJ there is just more stuff underneath to cut. I swear DC listened to their mom's to much and dressed the KJ in layers!

This is true...I guess, what kinda stuff is under the fender wells? Its prolly pretty different from my TJ since there really aint nothin uder there haha

Doesn't lower COG when you widen track...but it does make it more stable because of added track width.

K what I meant was that widenin the track will make it more stable...what I was gettin at was when the jeep is lifted and the tires are pushed out farther it helps with stability like you said. I worded it wrong thanks for the catch
