Anyone know if the 2.5L has a different CCV? Perhaps a better designed one?

There is nothing wrong with the CCV on our 2.8L. The problem is with what goes through it. It collects in the CAC hoses and builds up on the MAP sensor. The CCV is a very necessary item if you don't want your oil seals blown out. The best option for us if you don't like cleaning the MAP every 5k or so is to do the EHM or Provent, however those with the Provent are still reporting some buildup inside the manifold.

That is exactly the problem it vents liquid(oil) along with crank case blow by gases. A correctly designed CCV allows for a better liquid drain back into the crank case than what we get on the 2.8 CRD. Some collection of oil is inevitable but not nessacarily to the extent we see in our rig.
