Has anyone used those fuel saver magnet clamps that go on the engine fuel line with plastic ties? Said to save 20-25% fuel consumption by slowing the fuel flow at cruise? The dealer sells them for $150 but I want to hear some results first or feedback from anyone who may have tried them. How much have they really saved you on fuel, etc? Thanks for all replies in advance.

This makes no sense; slowing fuel flow while cruising. Just lift your foot off of the accelerator and see what happens.

I once had a roommate who believed that humans had to sleep with their body lined-up north to south. Why? So that the blood would realign during the night due to the magnetic pull of true north.

Do you think it works for your blood???

Thanks guys but I'm really looking for some more serious replies by people who have actually used them. Chrysler sells them so they must be good for something or else they wouldn't put their own reputation on the line for 'snakeoil'? The magnets are said to slow fuel flow by magnetic forces applied to the metalic particles in the fuel. I'm sure it works but really how much does it make a difference on fuel consumption?

Sorry if you got metal particals in your fuel I'd be worried  ,bye-bye engine. Those things don't work.Use the $150 to buy more gas and just remember you drive a Jeep and not a Honda,Jeeps are not ment for gas mileage.

Total gimmick!

Your engine would be running incredibly lean if they worked as described, which it won't do for emissions and other reasons. Plus, there are no magnetic particles in your fuel!

Chrysler does not sell them, your dealer does. Why? Cause he knows there is someone who'll gladly throw away their money.

If they worked, Chrysler would build them into the fuel supply system so they could better meet Federal fuel mileage standards.

Thanks guys. I did some of my own research on the web by searching fuel magnets and came to the simple conclusion that I ain't wasting my money on that crap either. I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried it and says it works. Even if someone believes it works doesn't mean that it actually does. A friend at work swears by it but then again the Branch Davidians swore by that David Koresh guy and look what happened to them. Thanks again for all the comments.

I had read an article on them in JP mag a while back. The ones they used were cheaper than that but ultimately they didn't work. It was a great article because they tried out about 7 or so different fuel saving systems and ran them in cominations for best results.

The best thing you can due to improve gas mileage is to install a new canueter valve.

I hear they work, but only if you take your front swaybar off, leave the rear on, and drive in reverse.
