That is absolute horse doo doo!!! I've had my windows tinted 2 years and no problems with them. Sound like it popped off the regulator. If you pull the door panel there a 2 pins that mount the window through the window regulator. There are clips on the end of these pins. Look in the bottom of the door it probably just fell off. When i bought my jeep the next day the same thing happened to my passenger window because they had this stupid flag bracket that you stick in the window jam. I just stuck the clip back on and havent had any problems in 2+ years.

Aftermarket tint? Ask the manager to have that put in writing then you fax it to DC :) Ha!

My issue with the window(s) so far is bad regulator, three times on three different windows on two KJ's.

stealership said that the rear window regulators are crap and they have had all kinds of problems, but the front ones are good.

Funny how it is happening to both my 07 and my 02 front windows

No problems to list with mine other than the seals are starting to show signs of old age.

Just got mine back from the dealer. Had both my front and rear driver's side windows fixed (among other things). The front one rolled forward just like yours. The rear one came completely off the regulator.

Left rear regulator replaced at one year old. They should do some kind of recall to get something better in there. That plastic cable sheeth (sp?) is a piece of cra*. When it breaks apart the cable flies eveywhere and jams things up.

Looks like this might be a maintenance issue for KJs that are out of warranty. Can someone post instructions for taking off the door panels?

JJsKJ posted his - but he didn't me mention how to remove the panel - I suspect it has clips that pop off - but you might PM him and ask

I've got a problem with the driver's side window off the track. I need to take it in under warranty.

My KJ was built Feb 14th 2002 and I have had zero problems with any of my glass,no tilting of the side windows,no regulator problems(knock on wood 8) ),and no no rattles.I did have a softball sized hail stone go through my front windshield but that was expected from a big chunck of ice falling from the sky though  .

'03 here with no regulator problems but if I leave the passenger front window down enough to still be covered by the vent cover it squeaks and rattles like crazy...roll it down further and it is fine.

My windows work but when the front windows are not rolled all the way up they rattle a little bit against the part that is still in the door frame. Is that normal?

I guess it's "normal" since I have that, too :)

Mine will rattle is I have them rolled half way down or so. More so if I have alot of bass going to my door speakers but I usually turn on the HPF and put all the bass to my sub which stops the rattling.

No problems. I had a 02 from 2002 to 2005 and my currant 2005 from there. No problems with either.

The door panels are held on by a series of plastic PLUGS that are standard for most all american cars/trucks. Use a putty knife or painter's tool (Cover with old t-shirt) or the special trim removal tool:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/CAR87650?utm_source=froogle.com&utm_medium=product_feed

save the plugs or better yet get new ones as these have a limited number of insertions.

Most are along the bottom then the door panel pulls out from the bottom and lifts up from the top edge of the door.

The door handle is connected and must be released along with the mirro adjusters and the window door lock switches. Once all is disconected remove the Door water dam and SAVE as you will need to replace it.

Then follow the previous post on removing the regulator.
