I'm going to be taking a week off from work from the 23rd to the 29th of this month. I would love to be able to go wheeling while I'm off. I realize for most of you, the weekends are best so either Saturday or Sunday (or both?) is fine. I really don't have a preference to where I go either. Could be Rausch Creek, George Washington National Forest or I've even thought about seeing if any of the Carolina guys might be going to Uwharrie that weekend so I can tag along. Anybody here want to wheel with me that weekend?

So I guess nobody is free this coming weekend? I was really hoping I'd get at least one response by now.

Dave, I would so go with you but I need to get new tires before I go wheelin again. My tires were described to me by one of my friends as "Drag Slicks"...yeah thats the term  . But its all good, I have a trick up my sleeve. 8)

I think the MD Jeep Club has a group going to Crozet. I've wheeled my stock KJ with them. They have a bunch of good guys. There website has a trail ride section and I think they are in Crozet the 25-26 of this week. I won't be making that one, but it would be an option for you.

So I checked out the forum for the Crozet place and It looks like that's where I'll be going Saturday. :D But if anyone here still wants to wheel with me this weekend, maybe you can come to Crozet with me.

So I went wheeling at Crozet Saturday. Didn't get too many pictures myself (my official photographer -wife- couldn't make it). I was waiting to see if any of the other guys got some good pics of me but all they got was this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA29hLnOJsE&feature=PlayList&p=B1638596045D61BE&index=13
I did eventual make it over the hump without a strap. I just had to take a different line. Of course the other line wasn't all that easy either. You can't see it in the video but there are two trees at the top of the hill. When going for the different line, the trail guide/spotter said to me "Just give it lots of gas and bump it over the rocks. Just make sure you stop before you hit the tree." So that's what I did. I got to use my skids a little and I've got a few new scratches, but otherwise came out unharmed. The place seems pretty small but the trails are definitely challenging. If it wasn't for the four hour drive to get there, I might consider going back someday.
Here's a link to some other videos this guy took that day and some still photos.
