As some of you may know, I have been working on a new bumper design for 05-07 KJs. I have dubbed it "The Cattle-yzer", due to its stout and robust fabrication. Every aspect of this bumper is designed for strength and function, the main tube is 3/16" 2"x8" rec tubing with 1/4" mounts to the tow hook points as well as the outer uni-body frame, same as all the other bumpers except for I use 1/4" instead of 3/16". The top skirt and side plates are 12 gauge cold-rolled steel. The winch plate is 1/4" cold-rolled with two bends and reinforced with 12-gauge for looks and strength. The winch plate uses a feet-forward design to be used with a Warn m8000 or Mile Marker 8000lb winch; I can build these with a standard winch plate design to accommodate an XD9000i or other feet-down setup.

As shown will sell for $750 with free delivery within 100 miles of Denver, it includes all mounting hardware, winch plate, d-ring mounts (welded on both sides of the tube), hoop of your choice (i.e: Height, angle, material, stinger) and light tabs.

As for other options, that's really up to you, I can add or subtract and features you want, or don't want. I will even make bumpers with front receiver hitches if desired. I wanted something different and I didn't want to pay $1000+ on 100% 1/8" bumper covers so I designed this beast of a bumper that weighs in at about 95lbs (estimate).

Please feel free to ask any questions or give me some feedback, I worked hard on this design and I think I have a winner but we'll see. I will start production as soon as some orders start coming in.

Looks nice. A bit chunky for my taste, but definitely nice in its own way. I think you have something there ...

It's definately not shy on the beefy department. What sort of finish are you using??? It certainately looks like it will give a lot of protection. I realy like how your winch placement sets. The only suggetion I would make is move the bar out a little to give more protection to your upper head lights . But it does look rather bullet proof :D You should be very proud , nice work.

the bumber looks good! Why did you decide to make your own bumber? Did you not like the RL front bumper?

I like the design of the basic bumper, but that hoop at the top doesn't seem right. Maybe if you give it a swept back look and make it a little shorter.

Kudos to you for fabricating that though.

I like it. :D Looks very solid.

I would like to see the ends angled up rather than parallel with the center section. That would improve the approach angle a bit. Need to get some of the bumper out of the way for those tall ledges and rocks.

Did you relocate your windshield washer resevour? How well is it protected?

Decent bumper but I personally don’t like the “upper bar”. I have no plans of putting a winch so I would get one without the winch setup.

I did not move the reservoir, it is protected by the 2x8. I tried to angle the sides more the then the washer fluid res was exposed. All the angles are about as much as you can go without causing clearance or mounting issues, angling anything more would making bolting the side pieces a challenge.

As for the bar, someone on here told me they would like to see the hoop extend all the way up to the hood. As for the current hoop, I also think it looks a bit off but as I mentioned, you can design your own to be built.

As for the other feedback, I think most of you have never seen what is actually under the bumper cover so here is a pic that shows the front with no bumper. As you can sort of see, the frame angles in at the sides, I followed the line of the frame and mounted the bumper about 1" out. The only way to gain more clearance would involve an ugly and time consuming washer fluid res skid or relocation

No disrespect but I like the upper bar. Years ago I had a Toyota 4x4 Hylux I just could not kill that truck. I definitely rode it hard and put it away wet. But anyway after having a front end fender bender and seeing how flimsy the front bumper was I invested in a Smitty Bult bar bumper. I loved the look beefy and felt that in case of a coilsion my damage would not be near as bad as the other vehicle. I never took it off road did not feel it had the testicular fortitude..
