Do you guys think I should borrow Moose's Topo maps? We can use them to find some potential trails...

If its not too far out of the way for you, the topos would be pretty handy, especially if we are doing an exploratory run this time.

9AM sounds good to me. 49er always works, unless you wanted to try entering somewhere else, but I think if we were going to do that, we would need to sit down with the maps first and look them over and plan some schtuff out.

I have highlighted a bunch of trails that look nice. Then again, you never know - they could be like what we've been running, gravel, or a 4+ SOB... Let me know when you want to meet. You could get them early and look them over, maybe even photograph some, or use this site:

These maps could be pretty handy. These are officially telling us which roads we can use, which I was finding pretty confusing, as its very hard to tell where public service roads ends and private property starts.

London District map index #15 & #18 is where we usually go. Looks like it is designated as "LAU-4094" all the way through. LAU-735 is a route down the side of the cliff to the river and the "play ground". Until you are in the playground, or at the cave/chute area, it is a county road on private land.

Nice find on the maps. They had told me they were coming, but didn't know when...

I've never been down to the "playground". Whats that all about? Is 735 that one that branches off really early and goes back to that big radio tower? I went back there Friday night last time but didnt go any further then the tower.

We've never taken that branch, so I don't know about a radio tower, but it is about two miles in if I remember right. Goes down to the river. I hear it's very rutted and I would want to walk it before getting started down... and have someone with a winch if it's too bad :wink:

Mitch, do you have any roads in mind that you want to explore? I personally have not had much of a chance to look at the maps, but I think I'll make it a point to do that tonight.

Also, since its only a few of us, I think we can probably just bring our own food, unless you want to go ahead and do the usual grilling and everything, I'm fine with that!

I was waiting to see how things were going but it doesnt look like Ill be able to make it. Ive not had time to get the Jeep ready and I never did fix that clicking noise Im getting.

I was thinking about getting a ride just to take pics and enjoy a day offroad but I have two tests next week..
