I have an '04 liberty renegade. I put a 2.5" daystar lift on it with 245/70/16 BFG AT's. The BFG's run at a higher pressure that the girly factory tires, and now the tire pressure indicator goes off every 10 min. warning me that the tires are over inflated. Is there a way to recalibrate it or disconnect it so that it doesn't drive me nuts?

If you have the overhead EVIC I think you can program it not to read the pressure
I might be totally wrong on this
If you do not have the overhead EVIC, then I really could not tell ya...

Yes I do have the over head unit. The dealer says that it can't be recalibrated, but then they didn't know how to align the front end after i installed the lift.

Are you running the tires at the Maximum listed pressure on the sidewall by chance, if so, take them down to 34-35 lbs..

Mine has been giving me that same warning (TPM light flashing ten times; once per second, every ten minutes; on the dashboard), even at 33psi. I don't have an overhead console at all. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to live with the flashing lights and beep? Take the bulb for that light out?

Check your spare and make sure you measure the tires cold. I'm running 27 lbs all around now (empty), and this is just on the border of tripping the TPM. If I go lower then 26 (cold), it pops up.

I don't have the overhead unit but even if I take the tires up to 65PSI, it does not trip the TPM. The basic TPM only has programming for low pressure.

If I have a tire low, the light will stay on. This is just a flashing light every ten minutes. It started doing this right after I got rid of the stock Goodyears. I think maybe the tire dealer messed one of the sensors up. Or could it be that it just needs re-trained? Where would I get the magnet to do that? never seen it.

I'm not sure the 05's have to do the magnet training .. whenever mine go off .. I just adjust and check all 5 tires. It will reset itself in a short time of driving.

'05 up are intelligent so you don't need the magnet. If the tire dealer doesn't understand TPM they can screw them up. They use a the silver cap and a different material in the stem and valve. If your tire guy is the kind that takes out the valve and throws it in a box with 200 others then pulls out whichever to air back up you will end up with the wrong valve. The wrong valve can ruin the TPM through corrosion with time.

I don't know about the older systems but my '06 will alarm only on low or on too great a difference between tire pressure. So if you have three tires and the spare at 35 PSI and one at 44 PSI it will alarm even though none are too low. Now and then one sensor will just go on vacation for a matter of hours or day. I guess they should get a little time off with all the running around they have to do.

Yup, only run 33-36 psi on a liberty.

People get new tires and think they require more psi but thats not all that matters. The weight on the tires is what matters most.

Does the cap really matter. My dash light on my '05 has been on for a while, and I did have to put a stock cap on one of the wheels. Wonder if that's the cause?

well mine does this to....it started when I got a flat on the way to CO. that light was on and would flash every 10 mins or so. I then got back to SD and instead of fixing the spare I had the tire place put on my MTR at the time so it would be cheaper. Still get that light that blinks all the time even with the tire aired up and also maybe the early 05's needs a training magnet idk the spare I put on is still on the R/R of the jeep.
