Exciting times ahead for us, our '04 4x4 Libby is getting the Frankenlift real soon. I want to run good tires, quiet tires, as big as possible due to running in sand, silt, soft stuff of Baja. I'd like to keep the stock factory 6 spoke alloy wheels and run possibly 265/75-16's unless the stock wheels become limiting.

Anybody chime in on this and give your $0.02 worth ??

I have a 2.5" lift (on a CRD) and just installed a set of 245/75 16 BFG All-terrain T/A KOs and they fill up the space nicely. My front tires rub very very slightly on the front portion of the black plastic fender liners when I reverse and have the steering wheel angled. I can cut out a small portion of fender liner and fix this. If you put 265/75's on.. you will most definately have to cut a bunch of fender liner and who knows what else to fit. The FAQ section on all-j's website has some info on 265 tires: http://www.boulderbars.com/frankenlift_faq.htm

BTW the BFGs are nice! My wife noticed no additional road noise at highway speed. If you are below 35 MPH the ride is slightly louder than the factory tires. Great wet weather traction so far.

good luck!

A 245/75 AT should work fine for you and will require less work to keep from rubbing. So where ya wheeling at?

thanks guys. next questions on my mind are these:

-any known problems with Frankenlift? I'm opting for the F2 with long travel OMEs.

-in picking tires, standard, C, D, or E load range? I'm guessing C is gonna be felt in a KJ, but will have better puncture resistance than a Standard?

Wheelin'? we're not yet. mostly we like Baja, Calico, and Big Bear, once we're ready
