Correct me if I am wrong, but does the 4X4 come with a few main factory skid plates under transmission, etc.?? Mine is a 2002 Liberty. I see a few topics on people adding skid plates. Just wondering in case I decide to go off roading sometime.

My '05 CRD 4x4 only had a front engine skid.. and it was really thin. I replaced it with the mopar skid which looks the same but was thicker and I also added the transmission skid and transfer case skid. I haven't added a fuel tank skid yet.

They did not add the tranny skid plate until 05. 02-04 don't even have the holes for mounting.

It was an option on all KJ's I believe, don't think they were standard equipment on any package. I do recall seeing the offroad package that included the skids and tow hooks.
