There are lots of winches like these coming out of China these days, all branded differently (I don't know if this is a Chinese one, but if it's cheap it probably is).

Basically you get what you pay for - cheap price = cheap construction such as bearings, windings, clutch, etc. Bearing in mind that a winch is usually the last resort to get you out of a bad situation, I'd look very carefully at the way it was made and satisfy myself that it would work first time every time when I needed it to.

As pipeliner stated, there is a new influx of China winches over the last 8 months, they've been attempting to find
vendors in the business publications for the past year or so.......It looks as if people are starting to bite on these
and again, it's buyer beware.......A winch is something you're going to want to work for you when you really
need it to, I'd suggest sticking with the name brands myself.....

And I thought I was the only LOST member who was also a member of MoabJeeper. Great write-up on an awesome website that hardly anyone knows about. Can't wait for round 2. I'm really hoping Superwinch comes out near the top. So far, they look like the best "bang-for-buck" winch out there, in our tow range.
