I hear ya. I didn't slam anyone and even thanked them for their time. My responses were towards the business. Trying to help them think outside the box. I need that even in my business. I am sorry they took offense.

CHILL OUT PEOPLE!

Heather! Thank you for the discount. If my lift was a couple years older, I would go ahead and get the Frankie. I have Rusty's and it is doing great for me right now but I know it will, in time, give out. Nature and the Rocky Mountain trails will do their toll on it. When it does give way and there is no bigger lift out there for KJ's in the very near future, the Frankie will be my choice.

OK folks... maybe you don't think the discount is up to par with what you wanted..but I can afford to discount it only at what I offered up. Here's a bit of business thinking for ya all who are disappointed in the amount of discount: When a product has no trouble selling, you don't discount it. PERIOD. This is called devaluation of a product.
If the Frankenlift was not selling and we needed to "get rid of" inventory...that is when a product is discounted to the near break even point. This is not the case with the Frankenlift -- it is a hot seller and doesn't need to be discounted. Of course there are other reasons why a business would discount products. This "other" reason is why I agreed to do a discount for the Frankenlift on this Group Buy. I was being nice. I think the offer was a 'nice' discount.

Now figure out what the cost of the discount is as as a WHOLE. The loss from sales that we are not having a problem with in the first place....it's about $700 total. As a whole, your Group Buy would have lessened my sales gross on this product by $700. Now it seems like more money, eh? That's how I see the discount...as a WHOLE.

I'm sorry if some of the people looked at this offer as a small offering - or even as an insult to them - please consider that it is the ONLY time the Frankenlift was EVER going to be offered for a group buy. This was a VERY special deal. Or so I thought. The Frankenlift does not go "on sale" or anything like that...ever. By God's gift, it sells well enough that it doesn't need to.

Also... of course I can't sell the kit to everyone less than I sell it to one of my dealers -- Rock Lizard needs to make money to feed his kids too. I don't mind if you buy it from Rock Lizard. That's why he is a dealer.

So, this is what I am going to do: Even though I was told 8-10 people were ready to buy, I only received a total of three calls for this deal. Technically, this group buy didn't make the cut for the minimum of 8 orders. However, the three orders that I have right now will receive an additional $25 off for being grateful for the discount they were getting in the first place. And John will get an additional $35 for his time and effort of coordinating this group buy and for having to put up with the stress it has caused him. Thank you, John. I hope the extra $35 off helps with your shipping costs.

Anyone else who would like to get in on the deal will have ONE MORE DAY to call in the order -- the end date is pushed back to 9-13, end of work day. Those orders will get the same pricing as the original offer stated on the first post in this thread. This is our offer....and I feel it is "nice."

Thank you for your time -- if you have any questions, please let me know as I am always willing to help answer your quesitons. :D

Went beyond making a good point I kept reading this and thinking why did she (Heather) even agree to the discount in the first place except trying to be nice to those of us on LOST. I have been in business before and people have asked me for discounts, so slow moving items sure but not something that you have a hard time keeping on the shelf in the first place.
Even though I dont need a lift now I thank Heather and ALL Js for offering and also once again being in the forefront of what we are trying to do with our Libertys.

A few years back I ran a compay and we sold Paint sprayer for painting houses and the spray guns for painting cars. I'm not talking about your little tinker toy wagner house paint sprays for $200. to $300. These sprayers started at $1,000.00 for entry level sprayers and got to $5,000 to $10,000. paint spray equipment. Of coarse everybody wants a deal, but when they bought a $50.00 hose or a $125.00 gun then invariably would say "What to I get for FREE?". I finally got to the point that I would walk them out the front door and point to the Sign and say "Can you read That Sign?" To which they would say "Yeah". To which I would Say "Does It Say Any Where on That Sign, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION??"
Yes some got mad and left but since we were also the top warranty repair house, and even if we wern't the cheapest we had the fewest come backs from repairs and a reputation of dointg it right the first time. So the painter could take his high dollar machine and get back to his job of painting and making money. So as stated earlier these people have to make a living too. And always remember if a deal is too good to be true it probably is. If we build a reputation of making comitments to these vendors and making it is worth they're while to work with us in time we will build our own supply and demand. But if we spend all our time nickle and dimeing the suppliers all we will have is J.C. Whitney as our suppliers for toys for our KJ's. Just a reality check

Heather, you guys are the best. I only WISH the CRD Franky was in my budget right now so I could take advantage of this offer!

Thank you John for putting the deal together!

I know when I go shopping for anything (clothes, music, Jeep stuff, ect) I can find the same stuff at several different places. You know I'm going to the one where the people are nice. Karma baby!

Wow. I really think we are getting worked up over this. My suggestion was not a slap in the face. I was merely trying to see if there might be an untapped resource for them that they haven’t gotten into yet. I know (I see it everyday) that there are people that you cannot satisfy no matter what. My suggestion was aimed at the people who might be on the edge of buying it. This may have helped them purchase this AND in return you would get a valuable and loyal customer who would go out of their way to continue to make purchases from you at your regular mark up, of course. I in no way meant to sound ungrateful. If this avenue has been tried and it has failed (the deeper discount) then by all means don’t give one out. I challenge my employees everyday to see what we can do to improve sales/performance. Sometimes that means giving more of a discount than we are used to. But if it works and we grow our business, great. It’s just like the credit card commercial where the accountant is freaking out because they’re going to have to buy more wood and a bigger facility and the owner says, “Isn’t this what we’re in business for?” Again, I didn’t mean to sound ungrateful. It’s hard for me to leave work at work. My mind is always looking at things from all angles.
