Hello from Naperville, IL

Hello,

My name is Bill. People call me "Doc". Either works for me. I live in Naperville, Illinois. I entered into the medical field while in the U.S. Army, as a Medical Sergeant (18D). To make a long story short, today I am a Vascular Surgeon at the University of Chicago Hospital.

Okay, so why I am here -- I have owned a '02 KJ Limited since new. I was thinking of trading it in but thought, why? My Liberty has been a great vehicle for me. The 4x4 still looks new, and is one of the best running vehicles I have owned. Aside from general maintenance and a factory recall ( or two?), I haven't had to put a dime into this KJ. People still compliment me on how nice the KJ looks. I run BFG All-Terrain's on OEM wheels, otherwise it looks like it did the day I drove it home from the dealership.

Anyway, I decided to search the internet for Jeep / Liberty items and what did I find? L.O.S.T. KJ's. This is a great site. While awaiting my registration approval, I've been reading many topics here. I have already learned some new things. I should note my first love ( automobile ) is 2004 Commemorative Edition Corvette, but now that I have decided to keep and mod the Liberty, I look forward to meeting many of you as much as I do planning mod's for my KJ.

Welcome to LOST, Doc and also to the Midwest group! Now since you are on here you know that more and more of your time will be spent here :lol:

The Liberty is a great vehicle and as you may of already found this is an awesome site. If you have a question some one has done it, shared it or knows how to do it! :wink:

I really am looking forward to seeing just what I can do to start having some real fun with this KJ. I've been off road along with other Jeeper's, ( mind you aside from BFG All-Terrains, the Libby's stock ), but now I want to get stuck in a mud hole! And I don't care how many scars I receive. :wink:

I've noted some excellent things here so I may be taking you up on that offer of help here from time to time . Thanks again.

you found the right site. welcome. these guy's have tried everything on the market. and if you want some honest, no salesman pitch, truth on any product for the KJ, here is where youll get it. start buying shocks and struts then get a lift. then have it all installed. next youll fall in love with your jeep all over again. it gets addictive. enjoy!

Hello everyone -- thanks for the greetings -- even you Video Guy. :wink:

So what's the deal with the Frankenlift? I am under the impression this is THE lift to install? Yes? No? And if so, how big of tire can I run? Such as a BFG MT? My KJ is black so I was thinking black steel wheels?

I was also checking out the Rock Lizard low profile "Sport Rack". It looks great and appears to also work as a off road light bar.

Has anyone here installed the rear bumper?

I would like to get started on mods this fall / winter. In any case, I want to be ready for wheelin' next spring.
