Any thoughts on the possibility of this:

or this:

As a work-around to some of the F37 woes? Both are supposed to work with our trannies.

Perhaps we should be looking for a way to replace the entire PCM (TCM/ECM) all in one package. I'd be a lot happier if we could eliminate our Chrysler software dependencies entirely.

Thoughts?

I don't know much about this. Anyone out there have experience to indicate whether this is feasible?

I'm also wondering if there's any precedent, perhaps with other discontinued vehicle systems, which might persuade Chrysler to provide an updated flash that's decrypted so we can become self sufficient.

One day it will be cracked and we will be able to do what we want with it....

Replacing the entire brains of this beast is an interesting idea, but I imagine that would be very hard to do. It would be cool to have your jeep running off a laptop though wouldnt it?

The problem with the stand alone engine management systems is that they are prohibitively expensive and are not really meant to support diesel engines.

the megasquirt for example only batch fires injectors.......that really wont work on a diesel!

I think the way to go would be with some sort of external manual
electronic shifter.
According to this manual...

http://hotrodlane.cc/New%20HEMI%20Tech/2004%2057%20hemi%20trans.pdf

...all shifts are actuated by grounding the solenoids. Except reverse,
thats the only one actuated by the manual valve.
Anyway, some sort of push button conller for all forward speeds would be
great!
This is what I think about when I'm bored.
