RL suggests a 1/8" drill for a "pilot" hole on their Skinks but, I found that a No. 2 countersink/center drill bit worked well. They don't flex and wander like a small 1/8" bit will so it's easy to keep centered in the punch mark (Thanks for the punch tool, btw, Marty. Didn't realize that was part of the package. I have something for you, as well, as soon as I can get another handle for it, anyway ;) ) and the countersink is deep enough to keep the 5/16" bit centered.

It would be easy to fab up a set of rails to work with the stock holes on the frame but you would still need to drill holes in the pinch weld if you wanted a good strong set. You would probably need to use the nut-zerts in the frame which wouldnt be a problem. There isnt much inward and outward force on those mounts, just up and down and back and forth. The pinch weld takes the weight of the Jeep when you come down on the rails.
