My 05 CDR just started a new fault for just a few days now:
The engine will sometimes stall, very intermittently, mostly warmed up.
My dealer found a "no sync" code, and changed my crank sensor (or was it a cam sensor- no sure, he gave me no # code)
The problem is still happening and I have no codes or CEL on.
Also sometimes the engine cranks a few extra times before it fires, and once it does it sounds like crap for 3 seconds. This part sounds like an air issue.
However the stalling while driving might not be. Its just like someone turned the key off! If I let is sit for many hours it restarts like all is right as rain?!

Help!

Synchronization errors can be caused by a variety of reasons:

*Faulty cam sensor
*Faulty crank sensor
*Damaged tone wheel on crankshaft
*Bad wiring in vehicle
*Engine is out of synch and needs to be re-timed

The misfiring and not running well is likely a product of the lack of synchronization and/or faulty crankshaft speed signal. I've seen both of these cause your problems (crappy running w/o CEL), unfortunately they're not always easy to fix. I would bet a wiring issue and/or ECU problem if it does it more when warm vs. cold. Where are you located?

Sound like the Air Flow Valve(flapper) is not openinig.

Take the cac out and tell somebody to crank the CRD and check the flap, if it stay close or it closes after it start and it goes off, that is your ploblem.

also the sensor that is back on the right side,(pasenger side) that is the sensor that keep the #1 piston in time if that sensor can not see the #1 piston it will never crank but also when is cold it will crank and when get hot and you turn off the engine, it will never start up again, until it get cold.

Thanks guys!

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner here.
For starters, before I read the above, I went back and found so many of you having air and fuel issues.
So for the heck of it I pushed on my hand primer button, just once...........Woooosh! Air and fuel came right out of the fuel filter heater plug connection! Unreal! I'm drawing in air when running!

I'm waiting for a new fuel filter unit/heater to come in and once installed I will report back.

Thank you all

Did you pay out of pocket expenses for the new fuel head? Can you keep the old one as evidence to report it to the NHTSA?
