Must be hard on the turns :? I'd love to know his setup & see the CV's at full drop. Is it a rockcrawler lift??? I want one.

If I remember correctly, it's a 2.5" Rusty's suspension lift PLUS a 2.5" Rusty's spacer lift. I think he talks about it on the cardomain page. I have no idea how the usual problems have been avoided though, or if they even have.

He would have had to space down the front diff and relocate the UCA down...fabrication. Al did the same to his KJ...5.5" of lift. The tire size (read weight) is going to put extra stress on the ball joints for sure.

I agree this is a disaster waiting to happen.

However - I wish folks would stop saying 4.10s and 33s are a dog. How many Rubicon's are out there with a small lift and 33s still running 4.10s? It's only a 2" change in tire size over stock. I am running that setup and my jeep is by far a dog. Gear changes on a TJ normally only happen after going to 35s.

Pix, 4.10 didn't fully correct my change from stocks to 31"s. I can't imagine how they'd compensate for 33"s

The TJ's 4.0 I6 has much more low rpm torque then the 3.7 in the KJ,4.10's are a dog with 32" tires and some armor.4.30 gears would put it back to stock with 31" tires,so you need a minimum of 4.56 gears with 32"/33" tires. You also got to remember the stock wheels/tires(if alloy) hit the scales at less then 50lbs,my 265/75 Trxus MT's on 16x7 steel rims is over 85lbs,that effects the engine alot.

Those Thornbirds are heavy tire and that front diff will go bye-bye offroad real quick, looks cool but just a mall cruizer or very, very easy trails(dirt road) rated.

Yeah but it looks like he has been doing some decent off roading, I fear the worst for him.

i remember reading that he did a lot of talking with Al to get that working. So its possible that he has something very valid going on.

Reminds me of the TJ I saw the other day. Unlifted and riding on what looked to be 32"-33" rubber. It looked ridiculous. I wanted to tell the driver at the next traffic light, "Nice tires, now lift it!" but he turned off before I could weave my way through the other cars.

He prolly was thinkin the same thing bout your Liberty  Seriously a Rubi has 31s stock and 32s is VERY easy to fit on a TJ just a few little adjustments here and there. 33s would look goofy but yall dont know why it was like this. Maybe it was a mall crawler, especially if it had a donot as a spare, BUT maybe he was on his way to install a lift, yall dont know so dont dog on him...

yep, if they didnt adjust the cradle or do something with the cv's, i cant see how that thing would do anything but break on the trail.

hopefully they'll chime in and let us know what the secret is.

His cardomain says nothing about a cradle drop, just using rustys kit with rustys OTT on top of that. He did sap the upper A arms. I would also worry about the cv joints. Has anyone done a significant cradle drop? Like more than 1/4 or 1/2 inch drop.

I've been posting back and forth with him to go wheeling (heck I made my own Cardomain site just to message on there), but nothing has materialized yet.

He lives 15 min from me and I've seen it in passing once. It sticks out like a sore thumb for sure.

I just don't get it.So why is it that when Al does a 5.5" lift you all think he's Superman, but when one of my neighbors does it,you all are lookin' for ways to discredit his knoweledge? And if you all would take a minute to look at his Cardomain page you'll see that he does wheel it a little. We don't have the extreme terrain here as they have out in moab,so I'm sure this Jeep will do just fine in our part of the world. As far as it being a pig,I can't speak for him,but I'm runnin' nearly 32" tires, and my KJ still has plenty of balls.IIRC meh_kick first seen this Jeep at a local Skyline Chili so covered with mud that he had to look twice to make sure it was a Liberty. He then invited the person to visit L.O.S.T.,but after just one post,we have'nt heard from him again.(Correct me if I'm wrong Mitch). If I were guessing,Id say that "Swampthing"is not a big fan of spectulation.

Good point Ron. I am still wondering if anyone has done a cradle drop. Anyone? Relocate the upper a arms?
