Jeep 2008 Liberty KK Pictures from NY Auto Show

After seeing nitros around and similarly built SUVs, I am beginning to change my mind from liking to disliking it (shape-wise).
It is like every other SUV out there, similar to ford, land rover, nitro, etc.. The distinction is over.

It looks good, and I love the front end, I just wish they would do a SFA and get rid of the crappy aluminum IFS.

I blame the styling on all the people out there who want (Daimler)Chrysler to bring back the XJ Cherokee. Since they couldn't, they did the next best (worst) thing. :roll:

It is not that bad...but it has no character. I doubt it will equal the sales per year that the ORIGINAL KJ achieved.

It seems every Chrysler vehicle has the same door handles now :lol:

On the negative side, it has thinner front lower control arms and a rear sway bar

On the positive side, it has rear upper control arms and a track bar instead of the boomerang

The best thing is it looks like the Nitro is built off the Liberty platform and not vice versa.

Jeep Liberty KK 2008 has replaced Jeep Liberty KJ on the website. 07 is still available by clicking on 2007 link once you go to Liberty. Otherwise, KJ is not listed or pictures on the main page anymore. Yes 08 has been available for a while, but didn't kick KJ out until today.

The interesting thing is the pricing - a Fully loaded 07 and 08 are nearly identical... I still don't think the new Liberty is all that worthy of a purchase but maybe some people will be pulled in by the introductory pricing?

i have been lookin at this 08 for months now, i just cant come to terms for liking it. Its too boxy, looks way too much like a nitro and commander and lost even more offroad capability. that spare tire location really bugs me..

The more I see it the more I like it. Oddly enough, the Commander never really grew on me.

at a quick glance in that group photo above of the entire lineup, does anyone think the new patriot looks more like our KJs than the new KKs do? I know its alot smaller, but I'm seeing it more in the patriot than in the KK...that KK's profile screams Nitro...especially the front end. I wish they kept the perfectly round headlamps too....and not that strange shaped housing around the entire assembly.

Tire underneath...bah!!! this is definitely a touring suv and not an offroader like the 02-07s. does the sport model KK have the black flares and bumper or are they all painted like the limiteds?
