Im considering two winches and was wondering what you all think about these. I am wondering about pros and cons of these two winches and im also concerned about the weight issues. I have a TrailReady bumper on order and it weighs I believe 110lbs.

Where did you order the TR bumber from?
Also about your weight issue, if you ordered FLII that has HD front coils you should be fine with the new bumper.

If wieght is a issue go with the 9.0RC,though you only get 50ft of rope. The powerplant is huge and is heavier then the other winches,it may not even fit in the TR bumber(it would block most of the radiator to).Might want to try a WARN 9500XP or TI series winches then put some synthetic rope on it.

I just went to TR's website found the closest authorized dealer, called them, they ordered it and now I wait impatiently for it

he called them and confirmed that they did have some for my year, make and model.

yea but what about the weight on top of the 110# bumper I think the PowerPlant weighs 100# as well. so that would be like 210 lbs on the front, is that even acceptable????

PowerPlant HP

Max air pressure: 100 psi
Rated Pull: 9,500 lbs. single line
Motor: Series Wound 4.6 hp 12V
Remote Control: Hand-held remote control with thermometric indicator

Drum Diameter/Length: 2.5"/9.0"
Wire Rope: 125' of 5/16"
Fairlead: Roller

IMO the power plant is a complete waste of money
if the motor goes out then not only do you loose your compressor but you also loose your winch
also why run a 4.6 HP motor to do the same thing as a .6 HP motor as far as a compressor

besides you will still need "plumbing" and a storage tank to run air tools

The way I see winches is this
They are for the VERY VERY few times you just can not use a strap
in the past 2 years I may have seen a winch get used 5 times and I wheel way more than most
and every time a winch was needed it was on a "scouting mission" and the trails were fresh and new
Now a compressor or air scorce is used almost every time you go out ,airing up tires
I would get something like an 8K T-max winch and a CO2 set up

okay it sounds like weight is a huge factor, so go ahead and get the rock crawler with the synthic rope they will both pull you out the same

You can get the wireless controllers,MileMarker and I believe SuperWinch makes a wireless remote(they both should work with just about any winch).
