I paid 16,399 for my Patriot and I thought that was a bargain. The front wheel drive should get me through the light snow, if not I don't need to be driving in it anyway. Plus I will also save on insurance.

Funny this topic came up. We were going to replace my wife's car with a patriot too. I was looking for one with the manual tranny but the dealership up here hasnt had one in a while. Anyone test drive one with it?

I like the Patriot, but not a fan of the Compass. I think the Patriot would make a nice little daily driver. Still able to go on some light trails or forest roads or something if you want.

Post some pics already!

That is a good deal, but I got my 06 KJ sport 4x4 for less than that with only delivery miles on it.

Did you get the manual or auto trans?

I think the patroit would make a great second car even if it was only 2wd. There isn't many small station wagons being produced today. Ford eeeeven droped the focus wagon for 08. So the patroit could be as handy as a button on an outhouse door.

Keep in mind that the '07 libertys can be had for a song right now....in the 17 range for a sport manual. You definitely do not get the mileage, but obviously, you get a true 4by. But on the other hand, the patriots do look pretty cool. JP mag liked them as well- surprise, surprise??

The 07 kj's can be had for a song because the 08 kk's are setting right next to them. The 07 is a carry over from 06 knowing they were going to release the kk a little early in 07. The patroit should be able to stand on it's own merits for what it is and is not. Some people may say if you want a true wheeler you need to get a wrangler cause the liberty is IFS. peoples deffenetion of a true wheeler will vary, if it takes them off/road to where they want to go, to them, it's a true wheeler. Some may even concider the compass a true wheeler as it takes them through the snow like a good jeep should. Others are into boulder bashing and need the strength of the sfa of a wrangler. Those who want alot of off/road ability and comfort in a small package opt for the liberty. A true off/road vehicle is in the eye's of the preciever.

Yes, For a daily driver I would get a Patriot before a civic, jetta, or sentra any day. But I would get the 4wd version even though it cost more. That's just me. But my KJ is a keeper. The Patriot should make a good second vehicle.
