Can anyone recommend an inspection shop in Maryland (west Baltimore area preferred) who will inspect a lifted Liberty without going nuts about a 2.5" lift and 31" tires? In reviewing the inspection rules in MD (which are not all that specific) I realized that there is nothing regarding a lift other than your bumper height. Also tires must not stick out beyond the fenders, and cannot be so large that they "require" suspension modifications. I have a buyer for my 2002 Liberty Sport with 15" rims and 31" tires. All I need now is inspection. Any suggestions on any place that is Jeep friendly?

i would think you would be fine. A 2.5 lift and wheels really doesnet make your jeep huge compared to other jeeps. So I would think the suspension mod to fit tires would be fore like 37's and such. I dont know if it comes down to not being able to pass.....move to So.Dak we dont have any inspection laws haha

This is where I went to find an inspection station in Maryland.

http://www.mdsp.org/services/inspection_stations_1.asp

If the link doesn't work....Google "Maryland State Police" and on there site you can find inspection stations by zip.

I still have to get my Jeep MD inspected but mine is all stock. A suggestion I would make if you haven't already had it inspected is to stick the stock rims and tires back on if you are concerned about the 31's. I went to a little shop for the inspection versus a dealership. Cost me $75 and the guy let me slide on the dark tint that was already on my car when I bought it.

Hope this helps.

What about Adams Jeep...they sell lifted jeeps and host an annual jeeps show.

Edit:oops missed the western part of your question.
