 Why do people always say this "Well I pulled this rig out or Ive gone here in my 2wd" Give me some pics or a video or somethin to back stuff like this up, and its not just you I hear it from others as well...I grew up county same as you it sounds and i aint EVER seen a 2wd pull someones rig out the mud...youd be the guy everyone hated cause you thought since it had a jeep logo on you could go anywhere...then come the phone calls...

Because it's the internet 90% of it is b/s. Like this. One time i had a tug-o-war between my kj and a brand new f350 dually diesel 4x4. We hooked both rigs up. I put my kj in 4 wheel low, threw it in drive and started to drag the f350 about a 100 yards before i ripped his bumper off and he grenaded his drive train because my kj had more power. :-)r :-)r   :-)r :-)r :D

I seriously hope that your example story aint somethin someone with a KJ actually believed????  Think the 350 would just pull that lil KJ straight to hell

LOL, that was just an example of an internet story. An f350 would pull a kj on it's roof sideways.

This is so funny, better than Saturday morning cartoons! My first real stuck in mud was in 1968 or 69 so been around 2 wheel drives/ 4 wheel drive s etc for a while now. Yes a 2 wheel drive when properly equipped can go a long ways but will never replace a 4 WD. Now if you are mud racing then LOTS of horse power and the right tires along with very light weight can skim you across the mud, BUT a 2 wheel drive Liberty will never be as good as a four wheel drive one, its just common sense. Then the talk turns to comparing Libertys to buggys, sand rails completely different animal, like talking about a hippo and a gazelle. Also there is a big difference in dead pulling something from a standing start and pulling something sitting still and using a winch. Come on now sure the Liberty is a good vehicle but we also all know its limitations and a lot of us have been 4 wheeling a lot longer than some of you have been alive. So just tell it like it is no big stories , we fish for fun not to make up monster fish stories. Also we all know what all those initials stand for, not impressed sorry......

your right tom a 2wd will never replace a 4wd and never did i say it would all i stated was aliberty wwas capable vehicle as a 2wd and there is a diffeence from pulling a dead still vehicle to a stuck one wiht or with out a winch and also 31 series aint tha supply or commo? so what unit you with and if you dont have a kj then why are you saying what it is and is not capable of.

Bearmedic,
Don't let these guys get you fired up...they are all the time telling everyone about how they know better than everyone else. If you and your uncle have the skills to build custom parts and try them out, then do it just be careful. If folks didn't try new things then we would all be riding around in stock kjs. Its not for these guys to tell you not too just because they have a huge laundry list of all the vehicles that they have owned and think that their opinion is the only right opinion. I have seen him go on about how much he knows and the 4wds that he has owned I could probably recite them from memory. We all know your skilled Tom but don't need to hear it every time someone has new idea. Go for it BearMedic, just becareful and good luck.
