Just got my jeep all ready for winter cosmetically today.

-Washed it was nxt car wash, drove it on to ramps, cleaned the under body, cleaned inside the fenders.

-Used meguiars 6 car wax all around, did a few coats of it.

-Mothers back to black on all the outside plastic pieces.

-Meguiars quick interior detailer on the inside and vacummed all the carpets.

-Meguiars gold series leather cleaner on the seats.

-And to finish it off, i cleaned off all the windows and mirros with windex.

It has been an all day project as my arm was getting sore so i took a few breaks in between lol.I really wish i had a digi cam, but since the sister lost it, i got none until christmas, i got a cell phone pic of the finished product i will post later.

they are using some diff chemical in the sand mixture thats apparently not so good for paint so i was determined to get it all fully protected.

I may look into these additives that you put into the washer fluid that melts away the ice and frost from the windshield.

Now onto the finished product:

First the piaa headlights i installed the other day:

First side of wax done:

Second side:

Parked in the garage until my mom gets home to take over the spot:

I would have got some interior pics but its too dark using a cell phone camera lol. You can also see how long it took by the time of day i took each picture after i completed each step lol. I started at 12:20 and ended at 7pm.

I think some folks in your area call that "the rainy season". New wiper blades for everyone. :)

Me personally: I like to stock up with fuel additives and anti-gel since I get caught with a little too much bio in the CRD and not quite enough mercury in the tube about once a year. Also double checking to make sure all that "roadside safety" gear is in order is a good plan. There are always more accidents and more stranded motorists that need help in the winter.

Lookin good unlimited. What is this 'meguiars 6' that you speak of?

I did alittle work to mine too. :)

http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33861

Good coat of megs NXT wax. Detailed the underbody about a month ago. Going to switch to 5w-30 Mobil at the next oil change. Im running 10w-30 mobil right now, hoping that 5w-30 will be easier on it in the cold temps.

This is a thread with pics from this summer/fall. Shows everything Ive done to it.

For those of us that don't live 1/4 mile from the sun - it's when the Jeep requests Mother Nature to kill off all the bugs

i havent done a thing except get all the layers off it. had fun waxing it and everything. i would have liked to had a more aggressive tire before it snowed but i dont think that is going to happen, the SR-A's have a hard enough time in rain so i know they are going to super suck in snow.

that doesn't sound like winterizing, that sounds like a typical baby treatment you should do about once a month IF you REALLY loved your KJ!

its not that great of an SUV to wash it monthly, especially when i have to pay to wash it (i dont live in a house). now, when i get my FJ cruiser, that will probably change

If it's not worth washing it monthly, it's not worth owning. Go trade your KJ in on an FJ already if you dislike it THAT much. No vehicle I've EVER owned has gone more than a couple weeks between washes.

I don't understand why people don't take care of their cars. I've got an idea! let's just beat the thing with sticks anyway to make sure we REALLY kill the trade-in value! That way you can SURELY grab your ankles and STAY THERE when you trade it in on an FJ
