I brought mine in today to get the wipers looked at, oil change and a few installs.

Getting it back later today so they gave me a Ford Focus loaner car.

that's the one that requires you to peddle the car correct? LOL

Or is that the model with the squirrel on a treadmill under the hood.
isn't it so strange when you get a loaner and its a joke of a ride? When I was going through some previous car fixes, I kept getting stuck with a PT Cruiser - over and over...4 cyl. It was pathetic...I really grew to hate those rides more than before I even rode them. I was in it once this winter for about 2 weeks. I couldn't wait to get the KJ back. I felt like I was riding around in a stage prop. Just a shell of a car with no giddyup!!

I remember bakc in the day my parents had a '93 Dakota that gave them SERIOUS issues. it kept dying sporatically and the stealerships couldn't figure out why (all under warranty). Every time it was in the shop, my parents got the loaner car...a Spirit. the Spirit sucks serious major (yadda yadda yadda)
When that Dakota got traded in 3 years later for an Exploder...said Exploder went in after about 6 months with a transmission issue (which is what happens when you abuse a 5 speed Exploder off road...). Got warrantied, and the loaner was a Crown Vic.
I think Ford stealerships typically treat their customers better than ChryCo stealerships. Either that or Fords break down so seldomly that the Ford places can afford nicer loaner cars because they don't get miled out as much;) (insert evil Ford guy laugh)
I hate Focii. a girl I know has one...she's had it for about 5 years now and it's got 150,000 on it. I swear it's got more squeaks and rattles than my nearly-300k-mile Trooper did, or anything else I've owned for that matter.
At any rate...is this engine issue being solved by warranty work or what? Either way, GOOD LUCK!
