I found the ideal set of rims and tires - but do not know if the Rims will fit.

Has anyone tried a set of stock steel cherokee (xj) rims, the 5 spoke type.
thanx

IIRC they are the same as the steelies that came on the TJ and those do not fit
I have tryed 3 different OE TJ rims on our '03 KJ and NONE fit
the alum's will fit with spacers but the steelies just will not fit
The alums hit the tie rod end

I keep reading that 15" (some) aluminum rims fit a KJ if spacers are used, but I have no idea how much spacer they mean, is it 1"?

I have a set of TJ Canyons I'd love to put on our KJ if spacers will work

Spacers will work to get those on your KJ but they will rub like crazy
and you will need about 1.25" spacers
IMO it is just not worth it

I have the OME springs with 245/75's on OE wheels and get less rub than
a KJ with rustys coil lift and 30X9.5's on black steelies
I have less advertised lift and tires that are a full 1" taller and I forget how much wider
