Dealership installed hitch not tow package

Well, ain't this interesting... my KK has both the mechanical and the electrical fan.

In front of the radiator is another cooling device. Actually, it looks like two coolers, probably one is transmission and the other is power steering, but I'm not sure about that.

It does have a mechanical and electrical fan though. I'll see if I can get pics of it tomorrow.

well, I tried to take a picture of the fan blades on my KK, but you couldn't see them.

sooooooooooo, I took a couple of pics after the first wash job :lol:

It cleans up pretty well, doesn't it?

uummmmmmmmmmm heres teh thing, im going to need you all to stop posting these pics becasue after actually driving nates with the manual transmission, im REALLY tempted to trade mine in for one with a 6-speed

hey where are the pics from Saturday.... I scratched my plastic rocker pretty good

I think it came from the spot where i went up on three wheel the first time that day

im actually updating my photobucket as i type this! perfect timing...

im calling GO Chrysler Jeep tomorrow to find out who i gotta sleep with to get a kk with a 6-speed.

Was that when you lifted your rear wheels on that steep section you took and KJ4ME and I both looked at each other an said "NoWay" and we took a different route?? Do you think you might be able to buff it out or did you get all the way to metal? If you need a hand with it I'm happy to assist. Give me a call or better yet E-Mail me your phone number so we can converse instead of tying up threads.

no, like i said, its plastic and i dont really care...i think it came from the spot where you almost got stuck..

Did you order the towing package or HD cooling package with your Liberty? I was always under the impression that the mechanical fan was part of the HD cooling package so now I'm curious. TIA

I ordered the tow package, which includes the HD cooling.

No mechanical fan for me...I will be talking to a Chrysler rep tomorrow about it.. And i did order the tow package..so that is what the factory gave me

So do you have your sticker from your Liberty? Is the Tow Package listed on the sticker? I also have a pre-ship list that also has it listed. I'm wondering if your hitch came from the factory, or if the dealer added it later.

I have my sticker and it says tow group,,ill post a picture later...as far as i know, it should have been put on at the factory..I should find out from the rep tommorow. Here is what i wrote him

I own a 2008 Jeep Liberty KK and I have a question for you. What does heavy duty engine cooling entail?. Also is there a difference depending on what transmission you have in your vehicle? So far i have spoken to a few different owners that own 2008's and one of the things i have found is the owner with the automatic transmission has both a mechanical and electrical fan, where as my manual equipped liberty has only the electric fan.

my feeling is it has to do with your auto trans but i could be wrong and could have been jipped in which case s*** will hit the fan (no pun intended)

I'm pulling for you Nate, it's a shame especially when we got together this last weekend I got to see you love your KK as much as we our KJ's. Keep it going the Squeeky Wheel gets the grease. So Look into seeing if you can get something extra for your time and trouble for the extra inconveince you have been subjected to. Keep us posted and give me a call.

Yeah, I didn't think about that, I'll bet you are right. The trans cooler probably needs the extra fan to suck air through it.

It will be interesting to hear what they have to tell you.

What is the cooler in the pic you posted of your tow hooks, is that the power steering cooler?
