max towing on a stick is only 3500lbs? wow

glad I got an automatic.
It sure is,kinda don't need anything else except the rear hitch/wiring to tow that much. You also don't need that sway control with that wieght either.
I don't have the OE tow package(I added the hitch and wiring myself, now RL rear bumber for the hitch),no HD cooling and only added a AUX trans cooler and have no problems towing,I have towed 4000lbs+ for 1500 miles(2 trips) through the mountains and zero problems,Then again I have the 45RFE tranny too.
I've got no "real" tow package either, just hitch and wiring, and I've hauled countless cars on a 2 wheel dolly (heaviest being either my XJ or a guy I worked with's 88 Monte Carlo, not sure which is heavier) and never had it hiccup.
Course, the sway control being needed really depends on how your trailer's loaded (in my experiance), not so much the weight. I know even with no weight on it, a stupid 4x8 utility trailer with two different size tires will definitely wag the dog
I don't think I've really pushed the 3500 pound limit for any length of time, and I would've been happier overall with a manual trans myself if I were to buy another Liberty (KK or KJ, regardless). But the sway control on the KK is really what'd put me into that option package if/when I buy one
