And it still doesn't explain why you couldn't get a liberty with manual and full-time mode; both the KJ and the KK must have CVs in their front half-shafts right?
Because Jeep doesn't offer that combo :-)r :-)r :-)r
Hardy-har-har!!  I wonder how difficult the swap would be. As long as the input is the same on both T/Cs.
The selec-trac (I or II) would arguably be longer than the command-trac so you would need the drive shaft from a selec-trac as well

Oh and the select-trac and select-tracII are NOT fulltime t-cases,they are part time t-cases with a fulltime option.A fulltime t-case is that,it's in 4wd fulltime(all the time, can't take it out of 4wd).

You mean like my audi? :D :P

Nope the front driveshaft is the same(except for CRD's) but the rear driveshaft's are different.

Cool, is the input side the same on both t/cs?

i know this is an old post but has anyone tried this successfully yet?
It looks like the input shafts are the same spline count but different lengths.
The nsg370 needs a "long" transfer case input gear. I dont know how long. If its the same "long" as used on the grand cherokee dakota and durango 242hd versions. The hd version has the same tailcone as the stock 241j and 32 spline. I dont know if the length is the same though. I have also seen pics of the same 242hd with the same cv flange front output.
So, is it possible to swap in a 242hd of the appropriate vintage and mate up to the nsg370 and stock rear shaft?
Cheers
