I’m having a hell of a time getting the Mopar rear tow hook on. I got mine used from RAYMAN975 and it came with 4 screws and 1 clip. I can only find spots for 3 screws. Is the other one an extra?

The clip and screw (located on the side) went on fine but the other two located directly on the frame rails I have only been able to get on half way. Is there a trick that I don’t know about? Do I just need more force and time?

I have the side one (the one using the clip) locked down but the other ones are only ½ on but are not budging at all. I have to take a 30 miles round trip tonight so hopefully everything will stay together.

The installation instructions for the rear tow hook only show three bolts, so the one is probably a spare. IIRC the frame holes have a tendency to rust, so you'll probably need to use some penetrating oil and take it slow putting them in. If you don't have a gas tank skid you should be OK leaving like it is for a short trip tonight - it might rattle a bit but if you've had to use some force to get the bolts in that far they should hold.

all 4 are used. thats what came off when i removed the tow hook to put on the rear hitch. try cleanng out the holes with a wirebrush or a tap if you have it, tap is highly recomended if you have one that size. theres probably rust in the holes if nothing has ever been in those holes
