well after tons of abuse and hella hard driving i blew the motor on my 02 libby sport..... now i just don't know what to do! She's got a ton of miles and i've already replaced the transfer case, transmission computer, transmission, the radiator, the a/c condensor....etc..etc... i bought her with 0 miles on the odometer and she has given me the best driving experience of my life..... so here's the question... I know i probably can't get much to sell her as a whole.. and i owe about 4,000 on the payments.... so do I A>get the motor replaced for about 1500 dollars and just keep her till she dies for good... B>buy another 02 libby sport with less miles for 6 or 7 thousand, swap all of my "goodies" over and get rid of her in stock condition to some local scrap yard and see if I get at least what I owe.....C>try to fix her as best as i can and see if the dealer will take her for a trade in on an 08!..... or D> get a beater car buy Al's 6" lift and just go to all mighty hell with her... lol....

The last probably isn't the smartest thing to do... but If I can figure it out i'd do it in a heartbeat.....

I'm open to ANY other info or suggestions that you guys have..... I've always been loyal to my cars and i'd hate to give up on her.. but if it's easy enough to make a clone then her memory will live on! lol....

So I found a place that had a modified jeep that had the engine catch fire..... sooooo... for 950 dollars plus shipping i'm gonna get an ARB bumper, Rusty's sliders, a kilby fuel tank skid, and a super skid!!!! I also found a motor for 1100.00 and a place that will install it for 450 right up the street from my house! so for a little more than 2000..... my truck will be fixed and hella more modified!!! LMAO>>>>>>>> THANKS to you guys for givin me the umph that i needed to keep her!!!! I'm almost certain I'll be buying one of Al's 6" lifts once it comes out now...

Noobie from Austin Texas.

Purchased new 02 liberty Ltd 4x4 - All Stock. She now has 160K and only only recall/maintenance work needed thus far.
She has been sleeping in the driveway since April...Drove her like a bat out of hell 80+mph home one eve b/c I was running late for night out with wifey...Doh! Parked her out front, got ready, climbed back in and she would barely turn over and CEL now on. Soo...being new to Austin and not having used a mech, i towed her to dealer...They said no compression #2, gimme 5K and well drop a new one in her, NOT! So did some research found Jeep only repair shop (I'm told he is THE goto jeep guy in town). He stated they would do whatever would work best for me budget/comfort wise, RR , find one from yard or 'Jasper Engine" with 3 Yr/100K warrenty and they replace all cooling/air hoses, Water pump and warrent their work at 100% for life of warrenty. I've seen a few bad reviews on Jasper Engines but they were all a bit dated...

My questions is why not Jasper?

Also any feedback from anyone else that has dropped a new used engine and how it is holding up...i ask this because of all the valve spring issues i read about online.
