Lost one off the front right caliper (DC part # 06102149AA).

Anyone, by chance, know the size of the bolt or how to determine it with out pulling the other off and using it as a reference?

This one right here:

I think it takes a 21mm socket, Im not sure about the size of threads.

Take the other bolt off and take it to a dealer with the part number. See if they can order one.

I was amazed when a dealer close to home had a nut for the upper balljoint.

It's a conspiricy I tell you. If the size could be determined, I could buy the bolt at TSC for pennies....

haha, this is all over the place.

There are two big bolts that hold the bracket on then there are two bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket.

I thought the two big bolts were 21mm and that stuck in my mind b/c my set of sockets only went up to 19mm and I had to use an adjustable to get that bolt off. I bought some more sockets later on.

Im not sure about the size of the bolt that holds the caliper to the bracket.. 13mm sticks out in my head.

I can check all of this tomorrow if needed.

IIRC Caliper bracket bolts are 18mm and bolts that hold the caliper to the sliders are 13mm.

i think he's looking for thread size so he can pick one up at the store and avoid the stealer.

Absolutely correct, sir. As mentioned above, the dealer price was $6.35 and I have to wait two days before it got shipped to the local dealer. I picked up a suitible replacement at Lowe's for $0.68....

The OE bolt is called the "Caliper Adapter Mounting Bolt" and it was a 21mm bolt head.

The threads were M14x2.00 and the replacement bolt had 22mm head. Because of the large size, it was difficult finding a replacement (tried Autozone, Carquest, Advance Auto, TSC); in fact, there was only one correctly fitting bolt left in the bin at Lowe's.

One final question though, I'm not sure the grade of this bolt. Unlike SAE bolt heads, there are no markings to indicate (rather an M 8.8 is imprinted on the top) the grade. It appears to be a zinc coated steel bolt (grade 2), and Tommudd mentioned that he thinks the other bolts on the caliper are grade 5, so should I just pony up the cash for the correct OE bolt when it comes in? Opinions?

I would think about getting that OE bolt.

$7 is a heck of alot to pay for a bolt, but the brakes are one of the most important things on your Jeep. :?

I lost the same bolt... it happens when you off road, the guy at the stealer was laughing at me when he saw the bolt was missing. his words were...

"you dont see that happen on the libbys...its kinda hard to lose that bolt in the shoping mall parking lot. but i guess you wouldnt know 'bout that since you go off road..."

but as it was said before... $7 is a small price to pay for a bolt at the dealer that keeps your breaks working. :D

I did pick up the bolt at the dealer. And I kinda got the same reply that Skywarn did. Parts guy was surprised that I had a modified libby and that I used it off road. He really did a double take when he saw the MTRs on for the weekend with a spare, shovel, and Hi-lift mounted on the roof rack. :)
