I've got McGards on my wheels now. They're solid steel, good quality. 1/2" x 20 I believe. Make sure you get the 3/4" size (they come in different hex head sizes), so you can use your wheel wrench.
I got mine at Canadian Tire, they worked out to be about $4 each.

This is the type I have but McGard also makes stubbier ones. These are actually about the same length as the OE ones.

Yep, they are 1/2 x 20

Yep, those are the ones I have. Right now I have them on my winter steelies, which are black. I'm not totally sure if I like them on those rims, but on my summer rims they look great IMO. (6-spoke alloy Sport rims).

Does anyone make black lug nuts?

I got some black Gorilla lug nuts from Discount Tire; they are part number 91187BCB (1/2" acorn bulge). The total price tag from Discount was under $35 for 5 sets of 4 black lugs and one set of 4 wheel black locks. Unfortunately the lugs are a touch bigger than the stock nuts. I had to use a 13/16" (or 21mm) socket, so I need to buy a new tire iron (< $10).

rockratz.com used to have black lug nuts on their website but I can't find them now. Discount Tire is a 4 hour drive to Ft. Collins. Anyone know of any others that could be ordered online?
