This was copied from the Chrysler Blog:

Fellow Jeep enthusiasts - thanks for all of the positive comments!

There are several Jeep engineers who lurk the LOST forums (and others forums). We also talk with customers, including LOST members, at Moab Jeep Safari, Camp Jeep, Jeep Engineering webchats, and anywhere else Jeep enthusiasts are found. We've been known to frequent some of the Dodge truck sites too.

There are a few interesting things going on for the off-road world around here:

One of them is the new Jeep Performance / Dodge Off-Road Performance group within Mopar - it is our intent to offer REAL off-road parts that the four-wheeling crowd can use. We're talking lift kits, locking axles, transfer cases, and other upgrades. While we've started primarily with the Wrangler, we do plan to get to past models with at least some offerings and of course some components will work across several vehicle lines.

Another big thing that is going on is the ORT proposal - this would be to take production vehicles and modify them with lift, larger tires, and other equipment to make them even more capable right from the factory. This would only be on new models, but if things worked out right the parts could be offered as a retrofit kit for older vehicles of the same model. Similar to our SRT group (Street and Racing Technology), ORT would only take on Jeep and Dodge truck products that were appropriate for the end use in the first place - in our case off-roading!

There are other things going on behind the scenes too - we showed several Mopar Underground vehicles at SEMA earlier this month and we will be at the Moab Jeep Safari in March with a few new things to see. If you're there, stop and talk to us - we can talk Jeeps all day. There is also a Jeep Engineering webchat scheduled on 11/28 at JeepForum.com to answer questions about the 2008 Liberty.

Look for more talks on the Wrangler in January.

Finally, you can help us to make ORT a reality - talk to your dealership, magazine editors, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone else who will listen. When people are asking for it we will have no choice but to do it!!

Wow thats pretty neat. It really sounds like this stuff may become a reality. What a diff. it would make (as long as they come out with REAL parts).
