is the left one supposed to have a taller holder for the screw than the right?
also, is the right one supposed to have both holders hooked?

yes, and yes. refer to the pictures I posted on previous pages. the left screw hole for the taillight assembly are placed further towards the front on the vehicle.

check the 3M website. I seem to remember them having some solution for removing their tape.

from 3M's website: In general this is difficult to do unless removed shortly after application. The part should be heated to soften the adhesive and peeled to cut apart. Heavy residue can be removed with a hot knife and adhesive residue can be removed with a 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Tape Removal Disc or solvent adhesive remover.

Very solid and well worth the money. :)

Too bad that Genuine Steel is out of business now... :(

Cobolt, where did you buy these?

Nevermind, I reread your previous post. I also ordered mine from Jack Mikol but his add said Aries and I was sent Steelcraft. mount the same but have 4 cross bars instead of the 3 so things just don't look the same. Does anybody know if Aries and Steelcraft are the same? Do the Aries have 3 or 4 crossbars? I may need to send these back and try something else, Any pics of Maniks to be found?
