I have been watching this forum for a few weeks now, and I am impressed on the assistance members are willing to provide.

I have what I hope is a simple question -

I found a 2005 Liberty Sport at a local lot with 20,000 miles on it, and I am very interested.

My question is that, according to a friend close to the dealer, the car has been sitting there for several months.
I would like to check it out before I make an offer - how do I go about getting a Carfax report?
Does someone in the group have an account? I have the VIN (stopped by Sunday when the lot was closed).

Thanks in advance for the assistance -

OFG

Carfax won't tell you if the upkeep has been done on it. Most dealers will print you out one though. The last few vehicles I've bought anyway, the dealer pulled the Carfax report on them just to help the sale.

Kelly Blue Book puts it at $15,625 if it's in Excelent condition. I only ran it at stock, didn't add any thing to it. If theres extras on it you may want to run it and see if it's worth it.

What are they asking on it ?

I'm getting REAL close to selling a 05 Liberty Rocky Mountain Edition that only has 19,xxx miles on it! We're looking to buy an 08 Liberty soon.

Go to www.CarFax.com and place your order.

I haven't yet done it myself, but may need to real soon.

Here's my VIN 1J4GL38J25W678560

I think I can get it for close to $13,000.00

It looks really clean, the dealer's wife drove it for about a year.

Kat, if you want, PM me with your price and we can discuss.

Thanks -

check Edmunds.com for a price as well. they seem to be closer to reality than Kelley BB, especially when it comes to mileage adjustments.

I work at a used car dealer and as I've learned the Carfax will tell you who bought it when and where. And it will also tell you of any accidents that have happened, the ones that have been reported to the Police or to Insurance. Private Parties can fix a vehicle by themselves, without insurance or police report, and it won't show up on the Carfax.

Good point. I better take it to my buddy that runs a car shop, in addition to the Carfax.

Since you have the VIN, can you go to a local Jeep dealer and ask them to run it and see what "factory" work has been done on it as in recalls?
