The Frankie seems to be about the best lift so far. What are the draw backs to it. I have read that it doesn't create any problems AND that it does create problems.

I am about ready to install my frank II on my 03 JeepZilla. What are the draw backs that you have read about?

-You may not be able to get the alignment back in specs without Al's arms.
-It creates upper balljoint contact that is fixed with a 'pad'(that it comes with) or Al's upper arms.
-Its a tall lift so the cv angles are kinda steep.

The CV angles are what I heard of. Is it acceptable or not?

From what I've read - when folks 1st install it the CV angles look bad - but if you then wheel it hard - it comes back down enough to be okay.

Well if all ya gotta do is wheel it hard to make it a good angle again, then I am covered because hard wheeling is what I like

10,000 miles on mine and it's flawless with stock a-arms... wouldnt give it up for the world :D the only draw back i can think of is the higher price tag than other lifts.. but i think you get what you pay for..

No one seems to have any problems with the CV's.. Alot of people run that lift and put tons of miles on it.. That or they just dont say anything about it.

this is all i have experianced. the arms fix the alignment issue and i have not had any problems with my angles being steep, but i do hear the UCA contact the strut on the pad every once and a while. then again i also installed it with nuts left on the studs at the top of the strut plate, so it is kinda like a 1/4" clevis lift just at the top of the strut :)

I know the search function here isn't that great but here are some of the countless threads pertaining to the subject.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links! Yes the search function really does suck. You put in a work and get a 1,000 hits that have nothing to do with what you want.
