Why does everyone want the black rims with no white letters? Is it to try and make the tires look bigger?

I guess since I'm from the muscle car days, the white letters and the alum/chrome rims look better to me.

Less is more, most people go from a clean subtle look nowadays. There is nothing white on the car, so why have white letters that stick out? I don't want to advertise for anything they are not paying me for anyway.

So if you have a white jeep you got to try and find white tires?!? (JKing)

I guess its really a personal preference. I think the all black makes it look plain and simple, where as the white letters gives it some character. But to each it's own said the little old lady as she kissed the cow.

All i did was scuff them with sand paper and spray them. The tires were not mounted yet.

i did mine about 4 months ago and they still look great!!! i used ceramic high temp paint and its holds up good on the trails. i actually painted mine while they were on the jeep but i did tape off the tires and took off the center caps.

the whole black wheel black tire trend comes from the military. Everyone associates it with every single wheeled military vehicle in production. Gives you the nor frills untilitarian look

I like way it looks. I wonder how it would look with the center caps painted black as well? Sport: the white letters look great on your KJ, especially with the black renegade letters on the hood. Then again, I have the white letters out on mine too.

Hmmm, then why do so many Euro and Japanese tuners have black wheels...I have a tuner and there are lots of folks to include some of my friends with black wheels that look so not utilitarian. I think black looks secksay.
