Katmandu - So it is. They have had this $500 military incentive for a few years now. Do us a favor, contact your local Jeep dealer and ask them what incentives are currently available in your area as well as indicate that you are a US Military veteran. They will provide you with the info you need and what vehicles qualify. Good luck.

The thing is I didn't even ask for the military discount. The saleslady asked if I had ever been in the military and I said yes then she said great I can take another $500 off the negotiated price. I said okay...what do I need to prove this. She said all I need is my DD214 but mine is missing so I had my honorable discharge certificate and another form showing honorable discharge (not dd214) which they accepted as official proof of military service/honorable discharge. I never served the 20 yrs nor am I considered a vet since I never served in an active war.

these rebates on the kk are hard to pass up, especially in my eyes because they really did improve on the outgoing model a significant amount!

I saw a TV ad saying they are now giving 0% interest on the 08's.  I knew that would happen to me, I just knew it. The last two cars I've bought for 0% down and 0% interest. I got the KK for 0% down, but I had to pay interest.

Well, in that case, I don't feel so bad. The 0% is for 36 months.... I wish I made that much money so I could make a big payment each month and get the thing paid off in 3 years.. Oh well, maybe in my second life. :?

BS. You ARE too considerate a VETERAN!!! 8)

I'm at work now at a VA Medical Center. I'd bet the majority of military members NEVER served in a Combat zone and they ARE considered VETERANS!

Take for instance these current wars this country is in. Of the 2,000,000 or so Active duty/Reserve troops only 200,000 are serving in a Combat zone. That is only 10% at one time though. The majority of military folks are SUPPORT troops TO the Combat troops.

Katmandu - I don't know where you are looking, but I pumped in your zipcode and they have $1500 listed. That is only $500 less than me not $1000.

Why does Jeep offer more Rebate incentives in your area than others I'm wondering ? :?:

Marketing and supply/demand. 4x4's have more profit than 4x2's. 4x4's sell pretty good in snow belt areas and we are now in the snow season. We are in a snow belt, however, lately, I noticed that many makes/models of cars are not selling very well in this area - blame it on the perceived "bad economy", lack of people wanting new cars, fuel prices, holiday season, etc. Incentives are used to help the company move both company and dealer inventory. If a certain model is selling well in one region without incentives or lower incentives, no need to increase to cut into profit margains. If they are selling slower in another area, perhaps offer some more incentives.

I was doing some reading last night and read where Jeep is stopping production (on Nitros) for (2) weeks in January to reel in the inventory a bit.

They are cutting production in lieu of offering incentives.

Dodge is only offering a $750 Rebate (in my area) on the Nitros.

LOL! $1750 rebate on a Nitro here! You must either live in an "affluent area" or the cars are selling well.

I'm about 100 miles South of where they make them (Toledo, OH). Maybe that's one of the reasons ??? :?:

Perhaps that is why the rebates are so low due the number of employees/family that can purchase Chrysler vehicles in that area at a significant discount already.

I came home from work today and there was a package from Jeep with my brand new Nikon D40 camera inside of it! Sweet! 1-1/2 weeks from the time I filled out the on-line form to delivery even though it said it would take 4-6 weeks! Just in time for Christmas! :D

I received a 3 night stay for two in a list of about 21 places, I had to pay to get there, but rooms and food was paid, plus a voucher to an aquarium where we went. Not bad.

Other than a mere $750, the only thing I get when I buy a Jeep Liberty is a Jeep Liberty.

Oh, and the Liberty I've got my eye on - an almost fully loaded Limited with everything but the Sky Slider - runs a hefty $38,220, or lease for around $678/month with tax.

/looks enviously to the south... :(

$38K for a a Limited, that way high!! I got the limited KK in Nov. 07 with My gig, but I opted for cloth int. but have TR pack, HDC, Tow pack and hooks, then added a Rubicon 2" lift and front Black mopar bumper. No glass roof slider, I was OTR TTL for $33,178. Shop around. The leather is nice but I have had in leather before in other cars, I like cloth better in Jeeps, they feel better to me.

Ah, but did you see my location - I'm north of the border. The dollar might be worth almost the same these days, but prices are a long way from being equal, unfortunately!

As for the leather, I could take it or leave it, but my wife is convinced it's better with our dogs. I would have thought their nails would go through the leather but we had 4 years in the Buick with no problems. And leather is nicer for the odd accident...

Thanks for the tip though, always good to hear what you can and can't get when it comes to a build. Looking at the Build & Price site here it looks like leather is the only option with a Limited.
