The drive home was a knuckler! I am drained. With the wheels/tires so far out of alignment, I was swaying all over the road. I wonder how much having that rear sway bar removed played a roll also. I feel like I just drove 200 miles in a winter snow storm.

Definitely not a soft ride anymore. Hopefully when I get the steel bumper on the front and a few weeks of settling, it will soften up a little.

I will be taking pictures in the morning. It was dark when we finished so no good pics. It definitely is much higher.

I'll see if Firestone is open on Sunday. (most likely not) to get a lifetime alignment.

it's daytime, time for pics!

They'll do a lifetime alignment after such a drastic change? Neat!

Yesterday I was kinda bummed that we didn’t go to Colorado Springs to be part of the lift festivities. However, I was in Hastings and picked up a “Jeep Junkie” magazine, and guess what? First page I saw the back of Troy’s pumpkin orange KJ, a few pages later was a write up on Rock Lizards front/rear bumper again showing Troy’s rear-end, and then a few pages later was Ted’s Jeep in Moab, a nice write up about KJ’s, LOST and Ted‘s Jeep addiction. Then a few pages later I saw a Rock Lizard Fabrication advertisement. So it was like being a home with the boys.

How much more stiff? Is it going to flex on the rocks?

I e-mailed Jeepin by Al on the front spring rate, they quoted a 450 Lb. spring rate. So, with a stock bumper it's going to be pretty stiff.

Also. I went ahead and got an alignment today (hence the wait for pics). The drive was extremely scary from Colorado Springs and hard to drive. It swayed like Iowa wheat during a tornado. If the tires touched a tiny patch of ice, the front slid immediately.

Driving it now feels so much better and safer though I just drove 1 mile from Firestone. It is 1000% better.

The pics taken were before the alignment.
